Dr. Brian Conway is the president and medical director of the Vancouver Infectious Diseases Centre as well as an adjunct professor on the faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University. Dr. Conway is an infectious diseases specialist who received his medical degree from McGill University and completed his internal medicine residency at the Royal Victoria Hospital. He then completed fellowships in infectious diseases at the University of Manitoba and in HIV/AIDS at Harvard University. During the COVID pandemic, he became recognized as “uncle Brian”, for his frequent media appearances (in both official languages), provincially and nationally, to explain the news of the day in a clear and informed way, to reassure British Columbians and to help them make the best decisions possible to deal with the pandemic. His research work (which is ongoing) helped identify barriers to COVID vaccination in the inner city and how to overcome them.

Dr. Jia Hu is a family physician and public health and preventive medicine specialist. He is currently the CEO of 19 To Zero, a not-for-profit focused on public health behaviour change such as increasing vaccination rates or cancer screening rates. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Calgary and a medical director with Cleveland Clinic Canada where he advises large companies on health and wellness topics ranging from pandemic preparedness to mental health and preventative health.

Victor Leung is the Medical Director for Infection Prevention and Control and the Physician Lead of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at Providence Health Care in Vancouver, British Columbia. 

Dr. Daniel Ngui is a family physician and medical director for an interdisciplinary group family practice of 7 family physicians, 3 nurse practitioners, a clinical pharmacist and chronic disease team with a chronic disease nurses at Fraser Street Medical in Vancouver. 

He is a clinical professor with the UBC Dept of Family Medicine involved in teaching associated with St. Paul’s hospital. He is co-chair for the St. Paul’s CME program which has an annual attendance of around 1500 clinicians. 

He is involved with national physician organizations developing medical education and knowledge translation initiatives and he speaks at the local, regional, and national level.

Carlene Oleksyn has been a pharmacist for over 25 years. She is both a CDE and holds the Certificate of Travel Health from the International Society of Travel Medicine.  Her practice has been featured in Pharmacy Business magazine as a leading edge practice and in the Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy as a practice innovator.   In 2021, Oleksyn was named the M. J. Huston Pharmacist of Distinction for her continued leadership and advancement of the profession.
